When I arrived at Oamaru, I suddenly realised that I hadn’t seen my swimmers for a while. As my certainty grew, so did the sick feeling it gave me – how could I go surfing if I didn’t have anything to wear, and besides, my swimmers were quite new, and not particularly cheap!
